The HIOKI CT6904A AC/DC Current Sensor is designed for high-precision current measurement, supporting up to 500 A with a frequency bandwidth from DC to 4 MHz (amplitude) and DC to 1 MHz (phase). It utilizes advanced zero-flux detection with flux gate technology, achieving exceptional linearity of ±5 ppm and an impressive common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 120 dB at 100 kHz. This combination ensures accurate, reliable measurements even in electrically noisy environments, making it ideal for demanding applications in power electronics and energy systems.

With a basic accuracy of 0.027% and a voltage output ratio of 4 mV/A, the CT6904A is suitable for precise measurements of both AC and DC currents, offering exceptional stability and high-frequency performance. It provides accurate readings for applications such as testing electric vehicle (EV) inverter motors, measuring inductor and transformer losses, evaluating wireless charging systems, and power consumption measurements in renewable energy systems.

The sensor integrates seamlessly with HIOKI Power Analyzers and Memory Recorders via the ME15W connector, which supplies power to the sensor. It can also be used with oscilloscopes or other data acquisition (DAQ) systems when combined with a HIOKI sensor unit (CT9555, CT9556, or CT9557). The CT6904A ensures flexibility and safety, with a robust construction and a 32 mm (1.26 in) core diameter, along with a 3-meter cable length and a maximum voltage rating of 1000 V CAT III for safe high-voltage operation.

The CT6904A is particularly valuable for high-frequency measurements, where its low impact from conductor position variations guarantees reproducible results. This is especially critical when comparing the losses of inductors and transformers, making it an essential tool for precision loss measurements in such applications.

For dynamic, high-frequency applications, the CT6904A supports phase shift correction with HIOKI Power Analyzers, including the automatic correction function of the PW8001 Power Analyzer.
