The HIOKI CT6846A AC/DC Current Clamp combines high-precision measurement with the flexibility of a clamp-style sensor, achieving a basic accuracy of ±0.2% rdg. This feature allows for easy, non-intrusive current measurement without the need to break the circuit while maintaining the required accuracy for power analysis in demanding applications. The clamp uses advanced fluxgate technology to ensure exceptional stability and accuracy for both AC and DC current measurements.
With a maximum current rating of 1000 A and a frequency bandwidth extending from DC to 100 kHz, the CT6846A can accurately detect rapid current fluctuations, making it ideal for automotive and power electronics industries. The clamp’s high-accuracy design also makes it well-suited for applications such as automotive electrical component testing, including air compressors and power steering systems, as well as for evaluating IGBT inverters and motor performance.
The CT6846A is designed to perform reliably in extreme conditions, with an operating temperature range from -40 °C to 85 °C, making it suitable for environments such as engine compartments or outdoor testing setups. It also integrates seamlessly with HIOKI Power Analyzers and Memory Recorders via the ME15W connector, which supplies power to the sensor. When combined with HIOKI sensor units (CT9555, CT9556, CT9557), the clamp can be used with oscilloscopes or other data acquisition (DAQ) systems, providing a voltage output ratio of 2 mV/A.
With its robust construction, 50 mm core diameter, and 3-meter cable length, the CT6846A allows for flexible installation in various testing environments.
