The HIOKI CT6841A AC/DC Current Clamp combines high-precision measurements with the flexibility of a clamp-style sensor, making it ideal for demanding applications. It provides accurate current measurement with a basic accuracy of ±0.2% rdg., supporting both AC and DC currents up to 20 A. The clamp features a wide frequency bandwidth from DC to 2 MHz, enabling the detection of rapid current fluctuations, which is particularly beneficial for automotive and power electronics industries.
Thanks to its advanced fluxgate technology, the CT6841A ensures excellent stability and accuracy even in harsh environments, with an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C. This makes it suitable for evaluating current consumption in automotive components such as wiper motors, seat heaters, and LED lights, as well as performing inverters and motor efficiency assessments on-site. With its precise measurements, technicians can detect performance degradation and quickly address maintenance needs.
The CT6841A’s clamp design allows for efficient current measurement without the need to interrupt the circuit, making it ideal for non-intrusive testing in various applications. When used with HIOKI Power Analyzers, it supports phase shift correction functions, including the automatic correction feature of the PW8001 Power Analyzer, ensuring highly accurate power analysis for dynamic and high-frequency tests.
The clamp comes equipped with a 3-meter cable, providing flexibility for installation in tight spaces and various testing environments. It connects directly to HIOKI Power Analyzers and Memory Recorders via the ME15W connector, which also powers the sensor. For broader compatibility, the CT6841A can be used with oscilloscopes or other DAQ systems via HIOKI sensor units (CT9555, CT9556, CT9557), providing a voltage output ratio of 100 mV/A.
